Dr. Sonia L. Davidson is a dynamic speaker, empowerment life coach, leader, facilitator, trainer, administrator, realtor, entrepreneur, and much more. She has worked in higher education for more than 28 years. During this time, "Dr. Sonia," as she prefers to be called, found her passion and calling to motivate others to achieve their fullest potential and pursue their goals with precision. It was also during this period that she simultaneously honed her coaching craft through experience and preparation to become the powerful woman she is today. 

Dr. Sonia's story is truly one of inspiration. Her childhood was wrought with challenges and traumas, a story of adversity and triumph that she openly shares as a point of healing for others. She often refers to these experiences to let others know that, with the right tools, guidance, and support, they, too, can reclaim their power and become the best version of themselves.

Dr. Sonia is a history maker, as she is reportedly one of the few Black women worldwide to hold six earned college degrees. Her educational accolades include a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership; four master's degrees: Business Administration, English Education, Reading Education, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL); and a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. A true lifelong learner, Dr. Sonia is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration, making this her second doctoral degree. In addition, Dr. Sonia is a Professional Certified Life and Empowerment Coach, and she holds numerous other certifications. For years, Dr. Sonia has held active memberships on countless committees and organizations. Dr. Sonia has served on the board of the local chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) as the Vice President of Marketing and Sponsorships. For several years, she was also a board member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).  

Dr. Sonia has impacted the lives of many women through her involvement and influence in churches, nonprofit organizations, charities, corporations, schools, and workplaces both nationwide and internationally. In 2018, she had a vision to host free, self-sponsored empowerment luncheons titled “Empowered to Empower.” Since its inception, attendance has more than doubled annually, and women are offered a safe space to dialogue and engage while hearing an uplifting, inspirational message. These gatherings have also ignited a desire for Dr. Sonia to spotlight and celebrate cancer survivors. 

Recognizing that many women need more than encouragement alone, Dr. Sonia formally established Empowered to Empower, Inc. as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping women and girls with the resources, education, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities they need to thrive. Through workshops, scholarships, mentoring initiatives, community programs, and transformational events, the organization helps participants overcome personal and economic barriers while building confidence, resilience, and self-sufficiency. As someone who continues to motivate others, Dr. Sonia established Uncommon Journey Empowerment Coaching Services, where she combines knowledge, expertise, strategy, and methodology into clear, effective proprietary frameworks and programs that help people transform quickly. Dr. Sonia discovered that by teaching people how to access the power within, anyone can live their best life on purpose, full of passion, and with much success. Dr. Sonia wholeheartedly believes the passage that states, “Nothing is impossible." This is the principle by which she lives.
